Conservas Catalina Triumphs at the Olymp Awards: Platinum and Gold for its Anchovies
Conservas Catalina Triumphs at the 2023 Olymp Awards
At the recent Olymp Awards, held in Greece, Conservas Catalina has risen to the highest honours in the anchovy category.
- The Premium anchovy received the platinum award.
- The Reserve anchovy was honoured with gold
- The butter and smoked varieties won silver.
These prestigious awards reinforce the excellence and quality that characterises Conservas Catalina in the realm of gastronomy.
The Olymp Taste Awards represent the most distinguished recognition in Greece for artisanal food producers. This year, a panel of 24 renowned Greek chefs, led by Constantinos Mouzakis, Chef Europe 2015 and president of the Acropolis-Chef’s Club of Attica, evaluated the products through blind tastings. The evaluation criteria included scent, texture, flavour, and mouthfeel, ensuring a fair and detailed analysis of each product.
Conservas of Excellence
The jury described the Premium anchovy from Conservas Catalina as "excellent" with an "extraordinary flavour". The smoked anchovies were praised for the "subtlety of the smoke" which does not overshadow the natural flavour of the fish, and their "excellent scent". The butter range anchovies were highlighted for their "versatility" in the kitchen, while the Reserve anchovies were recognised for their "high quality".
For Adolfo Belaustegui and Silva Ruiz, these awards consolidate the reputation of Conservas Catalina in Europe and in countries with a rich culinary tradition like Greece and Italy. "These results help us to promote our products and position them in markets where we know they will be appreciated and utilised", they commented, expressing their satisfaction with the achievements.
