What do we find in this product?
This typical Cantabrian sweet characteristic of the town of Unquera is a real delight for the palate and an essential dessert at any table or as an accompaniment to a good coffee.
Ties, what are they and why
They make the puff pastry daily in a traditional way through a delicate process that gives it that crunchy touch, tasty but at the same time light thanks to the perfect baking point that makes this dough hollow out creating several layers.
At Sanbar they use only top quality ingredients, which gives it that unique flavor that takes us back to our childhood.
Undoubtedly, its strange shape draws the attention of many, there are anecdotes that explain what could be the origin of the elaboration of Unquera's ties:
They say that a pastry chef in the area, with the idea of taking advantage of the puff pastry leftovers from other products, decided to twist the dough strips to bake them in a different way than what he usually made. A woman bought the sweets, which, at that time, had no name. When the woman returned, days later, for more of those sweets that had caught her attention, the pastry chef did not even remember them. The way that the woman had to remind them was: a form of "bowties", with which her name was ruled.
