Morteruelo is a typical stew from Cuenca and Guadalajara that is made with pork liver (sometimes other small game meats and poultry are added), spices and breadcrumbs , all well crushed in a mortar so that the result is a pasta. The name of this stew comes from this utensil used in its preparation. Many confirm its similarity to pâté, but it is a hot pâté.
